What will a treatment involve?
During the session, the Exilis is guided over the treatment area. You will feel a warming sensation as the Exilis energy is delivered to the deeper layers of skin. Exilis uses advanced cooling to protect the skin while the energy heats deep tissue. The treatment feels like a hot stone massage. Constant monitoring of the skin’s temperature facilitates a comfortable, even treatment. The heat alone can then be used to redefine loose skin and smooth wrinkles by stimulating and strengthening the collagen network to improve skin laxity and texture. Each session is about 30 to 45 minutes in length.
Who is a good candidate?
Exilis treats stubborn areas that exercise and diet won’t budge. It is a perfect treatment for men and women who are at or close to their ideal weight. Exilis is ideal for treating wrinkles, skin laxity and shaping the face and body. Common areas of treatment include the eye area, around the mouth, chin area, jaw line, décolleté, abdomen, back, arms, legs, knees and ankles.
Exilis treatments are not suitable for those with an implanted pacemaker or internal defibrillator, metal implant, pregnant or lactating. A full list of contraindications will be discussed with you in the consultation.
How many treatments will I need?
Typically 4 treatment sessions spaced 1 to 2 weeks apart are recommended. Clients can experience results after the first few treatments and they continue to improve with each additional session. Optimal results are seen following the fourth treatment. You can have additional treatments if desired.
What about recovery?
There are no side effects and no downtime after Exilis treatments. Some pinkness may last 15 to 30 minutes.
It is very important to drink at least 2 litres of water the day before, day of, and day after your Exilis treatment. Light exercise and a healthy diet following your treatment are recommended for the best clinical outcome.
